Kia is on the right way... Paying at public charge points should be as simple as using your credit card or any other universal payment method.
What if you had to be a member to pay at BP? And at Shell? Etc.... It's truly awful that in order to use a charge point, you have to be a member there, or at least registered there. It means EV drivers have to be members with multiple companies.
Kudos to Kia for breaching this!
KiaCharge provides access to several major charging networks, including bp pulse, Pod Point, IONITY, Source London, Chargepoint, NewMotion, Char-gy, and ESB. Several other networks, including certain regional services, are also available, adding up to more than 13,900 charge points across the UK – around 68 per cent of the public charging network.
Next step is 100% of the public charging network simply from 1 account, or even better, with any payment method
