Who would've thought this? EV drivers plan to journey more than petrol counterparts.
After all the talk about allegedly not being able do distances with an EV and thus one needs a gas guzzler, it turns out that EV drivers do more miles a year than combustion engine drivers.
Reminds me of the early days when we were doing our research. Never met so many people saying they drive to Scotland and thus stating they can't buy an EV. Firstly, it is very easy to drive to Scotland from, for example, London. Just charge every time you stop. When you want to have lunch and/or need a rest as well. The car will mostly be charged 80% or up from that by the time you're done. - I did it myself and think I may have actually saved time versus a petrol car.
Potentially more interesting from our early research is that when we asked back how often do you drive to Scotland then? The answer was often well, I do go sometimes. Our reply: "Please try to remember when the last time was, when you drove to Scotland"? Ah, came the answer back. That must have been 3 years ago now.
Please don't buy a polluting car based on a trip you take once every 2, 3 or even fewer years! :)
